This afternoon our 7th and 8th grade students had a guest speaker, Mrs. Kris McClellend, come talk to them about civics and government. A fun fact about her is that she and her husband helped pass a law so that international adoptions were handled at the federal level instead of the state level. Their advocacy for change came after they were told they couldn't adopt an 8 year old from Russia.
